Upcycling in Liska Park – How a sustainable paradise is emerging in Romania
In a world where resources are becoming increasingly scarce and environmental protection is a central concern, Liska Park in Romania demonstrates that sustainable construction and animal welfare can go hand in hand. Under the motto “Preserving the old, creating the new – sustainability with history”, a unique project was created that not only provides a refuge for endangered animals, but also serves as a model for ecological construction.
Upcycling as a guiding principle at Liska Park
Christian, the founder and financier of Liska Park, has dedicated his life's work to the circular economy and resource conservation. Instead of producing new materials or extracting raw materials on a large scale, the project relied exclusively on upcycling. This means that building materials already used elsewhere were not thrown away, but dismantled, transported and reused in the park.
This concept is present in all aspects of the park – from the animal shelters, to the visitor areas, the walkways and the buildings. Every detail has been designed with the aim of reusing existing materials and giving them a new life.
Liska Park – a model for the future
Liska Park is not just an animal park – it is a symbol of sustainable living, responsible use of resources and the desire to transform the past into the future. Christian and his team have proven that sustainability and aesthetics can harmonize perfectly.
„Păstrând vechiul, creând noul – sustenabilitate cu istorie” – acest motto face din Liska Park nu doar un refugiu unic pentru animale, ci și o sursă de inspirație pentru toți cei care îl vizitează.
